INDIAN WEDDING ATTIRES

Wedding is a lifetime affair and wedding attire is the most important part of wedding preparation activities. The married women in India are very sentimental about their wedding dresses and keep      them safe throughout their life time. Brides in India are known for their beautiful weddings attires, make up and jewelleries.Their whole get up on the day of their marriage is extremely beautiful. Women always talk about what the bride is going to wear in the most awaited moment. This occasion is just like a festival not only for bride, but also for her family and people who are related to her. Indian wedding is the occasion where every bride wants to look “Very Special”. Wedding is the big day in her life which is not going to come again,hence their motive is to look most beautiful and stand out from the crowd.

 Indian Wedding dresses make a fashion statement that reflects a blend of both contemporary designs as well as highlights traditional Indian culture that has been followed foryears.Indian bridal wears are very rich and varied throughout India. The states like  Karnataka, Andhra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu have silk as the fabric of the wedding wear. While the groom wears silk dhoti with kurta and traditional caps with veils of flowers. A dhoti is the traditional men's wear garment in India. The south Indian bride wears silk saree.North Indian women prefer  red colour wedding dresses. Their wedding attire ranges from shararas, lehengas, ghagracholi to the  saris.For an Indian bride, especially the north Indian bride, the favoured bridal outfit is lehenga which a combination of long skirt-lehenga, blouse and stole.North Indian men wearssherwanis, pajamakurtas with matching stoles, mojaris and turbans. Indian families emphasize a lot in wedding dresses and spend a lot to get the best dresses.
Lehanga-Choli is the most popular dress for party and weddings among women in north India.The cut of the blouse has been modernised to patterns like backless or with strings, Halter necklines or strapless blouses  which adds glamour to  traditional outfit. In latest trends ,bridal lehengas are multicolored and have patchwork of multi color fabric, applique and embroidery. Mirrors are also used in embroidery in both lehanga and choli making the dress even more colorful,attractive and beautiful.This gives a modern view to traditional look.
The Saree is also the most popular bridal dress and is worn by most Indian Hindu brides in a variety of styles.Draping the sari in a new style will make the whole look of the bride unconventional and beatiful. Bridal sarees are made of heavy silk and embroidered with gold and silver thread which makes them very expensive. Sareecolor and fabric is very religious and specific to states to states in India.Like in Kerala, women wear white silk sarees,Bengali Indian bridal sarees are in full red.North Indian women may wear net, Georgette or chiffon fabric sarees.

The Fabrics like chiffon, nets, silks and crepes with  gold zardosi work, silk thread work,mirror work and Kanjivaram block prints  are mostly used in designing bridal wear by designers .This makes the wedding attire appear heavy and full of some beautiful designs on it.The colors in trend are pista green,wine red, baby pink,oyster blue, pale yellow and creams with gold.



The Combination of Indian ethnicity with modern fabrication is used in designing bridal wear to make a beautiful style statement on the wedding day.
